Trading on thirty-plus years of experience as a recognized leader in public and private procurement, I help organizations and individuals deal with the challenges of today’s disrupted marketplace. My roles include consultant/advisor, influencer, and evangelist on social media. (@Hal_Good on Twitter).I have been honored to serve as national president of three procurement organizations in addition to my practitioner engagements and am sensitive to the complexities surrounding the intersection of technology, compliance, COVID driven challenges, and supplier networks that today’s procurement and supply chain leaders face. Some honors I highly treasure include membership in the CPO Rising Procurement Hall of Fame, receiving NIGP's 2nd highest national award the "Distinguished Service Award" and being named an IBM Futurist. My current endeavors include contributing to building GovShop at Public Spend Forum.I am highly honored to have been invited to join the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Private Directors Association as a founding member.I did not intend to become a procurement professional. I transitioned into that role from managing the day to day operations of a clinical department at a major teaching hospital, bringing across an end-user/ stakeholder perspective, recognizing the importance of securing optimal value, reliability, and functionality. Throughout my career, I have continued to carry the message of the importance of procurement in organizations, especially a procurement department, which has learned to define and deliver "value" working collaboratively with client agencies and in harmony with the organizational mission. I have been fortunate to have had access to promote my views through speaking engagements and leadership opportunities with professional organizations and trade groups. I have also become progressively more active in social media and recommend that all procurement professionals would benefit served by doing so. Readers of this profile are invited and encouraged to join and network on my LinkedIn group, "Procurement Pros" where the focus is on sharing information of mutual benefit to procurement practitioners and to those who are stakeholders in procurement outcomes and processes.Specialties: cooperative procurement, project management, service contracting, e-procurement, public-private partnerships, infrastructure contracting.#SmartProcurement #DigitalTransformation #GovTech #P3 #Blockchain #AI #ML #IoT #IIoT #ProcurementWithPurpose #OpenGovMarkets #SmartCities #SmartSourcing

President And Ceo - Founder And OwnerProcurement Pros Group, Llc Nov 2012 - PresentProcurement, like many things in life, can only be valued if its contributions and potential are understood. In many organizations these are understood well. Businesses cannot achieve full potential value without Procurement and Procurement cannot achieve full value without "C-suite" level support from the business. To earn that support, Procurement must owe its first allegiance to collaborative participation the development of the overall business strategy and goals. Procurement must become "more strategic" and less process driven. Cost is, and will remain important, but other factors should be included and carefully weighed to secure outcomes optimally beneficial to the overall organization. The Procurement Pros Group is dedicated to helping procurement departments become "more strategic". One of the key components is collaboratively defining the "value" of goods and services to be acquired,, with input of stakeholders in the "outcomes", and with the overall mission and goals of the organization constantly in mind. The "Procurement Pros" group on Linkedin was created as a forum for procurement professionals and stakeholders to share information and ideas.
