Having sold Electronic Ink to Capgemini, everything is new again! With Johanna Hambrose as CEO of the certified woman owned ZENDA, LLC I have assumed the title of Chief Strategy Officer. With a focus on the design of work within the business enterprise, my growing team of design consultants is helping clients invent and disrupt by seeing business. As Electronic Ink's Founder & CEO, for more than two decades, a human-centered design approach to business operations has attracted leaders across all types of industries to award landmark projects to my team.Shortly after graduating from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in design, I began designing technological systems that put people first. My early work included significant industry breakthroughs: the first ATM for Citibank Corporation, the first electronic medical record’s graphic user interface, and the user interface for IBM’s OS/2. My teams' drive and unique perspective on technology shaped an industry and, in 1990, I founded Electronic Ink to formalize design’s role in the technology industry.Over thirty years, I have shown Fortune 500 companies and small start-ups alike the power of design consulting as a means of understanding business and modeling a better, more innovative future.In addition to serving the needs of a diverse list of clients, I am grateful for receiving international recognition over the years. One of Electronic Ink’s designs now resides in New York’s Museum of Modern Art. I wrote a bestselling business book, Wrench in the System, which details how to turn under-performing digital assets into powerhouse systems. I lecture extensively at conferences and universities around the world and have been tapped as an expert in design and technology for international legal proceedings. I received the Alumni Achievement Award from Carnegie Mellon University for significant contributions to the design and technology industries.
