Harold is a third-generation venture capitalist, having spent his entire adult life in Canadian venture capital markets. With family roots stretching back 60 years to a Saskatchewan based start-up, which contributed to the development of a TSX 60 listed resource company, Harold is a naturally curious lifelong learner, who is deeply passionate about investing. Frustrated with the inconsistency of research available for some of the least followed companies in the Canadian marketplace, Harold designed and implemented processes and systems for tracking and ranking Canadian small cap growth companies based on cash flow. After graduating from Mount Allison University in 1993 with a degree in English and Philosophy, Harold joined his father at Canaccord Capital (a predecessor to Canaccord Genuity). Tasked with growing the business, Harold’s quietly competitive nature combined with hard work, determination and a natural tendency for helping people, allowed him to create one of Canaccord’s top 10 practices in Canada.With a focus on semi-private equity style investing (cashflow-based investing), Harold provides calm, insightful advice to investors, management teams and family offices. He is also a resourceful guide for entrepreneurs listing companies on the market.
