I served as a member of the IMT Red. Respond in the event of a local, state or national emergency or activation of ESF-8. Work assignments as directed to provide rapid disaster assessment, field command and control, operations, logistics, panning and other support as needed for the NDMS System, other DHHS personnel and elements as well as other local and federal assets as needed.

Assist the Fire Chief in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and priorities of operations. Assume command or functions in a leadership role at significant incidents; coordinate and work with other F/R Personnel, other county departments and agencies and local /state agencies as necessary. Supervise and delegate activities of fire suppression, rescue, training, and medical emergencies. Make technical decisions on methods of fire suppression and medical response including directing, administering, coordinating and supervising during emergency operations. Coordinate F/R protection at community events. Perform other related activities and program oversight as assigned by the Fire Chief. Responsible for coordination and continuity between Volunteer and Career shifts while maintaining a positive work environment, demonstrate a knowledge of sound people skills in carrying out the mission of the department.

As the Deputy Chief I took over the duties of Fire Chief when the sitting chief resigned. I was confirmed a few moths later. Worked as the department fire chief until Jan 2019. Due to my wife health issues (Cancer) I resigned my position so I would be able to support her and my children's needs better. I remained a Certified Chief Officer in a support role to the office of the fire chief until April 2020 when I requested a reassignment to my current position as Fire Rescue Captain.
