After retiring from a career as a compensation expert, I am looking forward to the next chapter. For more than 3 decades I had the opportunity to lead world-class functions that deliver market-competitive executive compensation, global pay, and total rewards strategies. Known for curiosity and sound judgment, I strive to understand each issue I’m faced with and bring a perspective that encourages healthy, productive debate. With a proven ability to synthesize a variety of viewpoints and earn the necessary buy-in for progress, I plan to apply my expertise as a not-for-profit board member, impacting my community and the lives of others. My last 20 years were spent at Prudential Financial where I helped establish a clear and progressive compensation strategy for 40,000 global employees that aligned with the company’s goals as it transitioned from private to public status. I developed and continually refined a total rewards strategy for the company, ensuring competitiveness and cost-efficiency. I also worked closely with the CHRO to design a two-year CEO succession plan. Global experience runs throughout my career, and as a result I’ve developed a keen ability to navigate a variety of cultures, beliefs, and values. Prior to Prudential, I held Vice President, Compensation roles with Cigna and Cigna International, leading teams that provided compensation consulting to every division of the business. And, at American Express I worked with business leaders to create initiatives in global broadbanding and variable pay. In addition to serving a not-for-profit organization, my retirement includes spending quality time with my children and family, focusing on fitness, expanding my interest in investments, and pondering my next move on the chess board.
