The objective of my PhD is to provide a novel improvement to the design modelling technique of the honeycomb labyrinth seal within the Rolls Royce gas turbine engine. In my role, I have:• Developed the state-of-the-art coupled CFD/FEA modelling technique to analyse 3D gas turbine architecture.• Provided recommendations to RR on modelling techniques for the aero-thermomechanical analysis of internal air systems technology.• Presented at Rolls Royce conferences, aims to publish in 2024• Demonstrated time management, flexibility and intellect by teaching several subjects including Turbulence, Computational Fluid Mechanics, Numerical Methods, CAD and Dynamics.

- Showcased presentation and interpersonal skills by representing University at Applicant Days, HE Fayres, Open Days and school visits- Developed reliability and knowledge of University through over 7 years of campus tours- Keen organiser during event setup and proactive member of any student ambassador team- Provided Engineering support to school teams in the Engineering Education Scheme technical day

Successfully passed the year-long internship assessment process to be invited back to GE Aviation Wales.- Balanced responsibilities between the repair team and part recovery, using my initiative to complete part recoveries, inspection queries and issues within the vast repair shop- Innovated strategies to support my team; 3D printing tools to improve inspection and developing a scanning system to improve engine part storage - Led the development and training for 3 new interns, improving their knowledge of engine technology, the overhaul process and best engineering practice

I worked as an engineering intern at the repair and overhaul site at GE Wales, primarily on the GP7000 Engine. • Heavily involved in part recovery through the submission of over 100 Departure Records, leading to a cost saving of $20m+ in LCP. • Managed the Departure Record tracker, which allowed me to procure a technical and strategic oversight of the part recovery process. • Developed knowledge of propulsion technology through detailed documentation of the incoming condition of the Propulsor modules. • Became a day-to-day problem solver by troubleshooting issues raised by shop floor mechanics and inspectors. • Displayed analytical skills through responsibility for the GP7000 Engineering Metrics
