Harper started practicing yoga while attending school in Oregon. Although first through academic pursuit, yoga slowly turned into a passion for Harper. In 2011, after years of personal practice and inspiration from teachers, she began her Advanced Yoga Studies at the Yoga Shala of Portland with renowned teachers such as Leslie Kaminoff, Chase Bossart, and Sonia Nelson. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher certification at The Lotus Seed in Portland, becoming a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance in 2013. After obtaining her yoga teacher certification, Harper studied Integrated Movement Therapy - 1000 hour Yoga Therapy (IAYT) program - with the Samarya Center in Seattle. Under the guidance of Molly Lannon Kenny, she learned to draw from a clinical based cognitive-behavioral therapy method and combine it with foundations of yoga philosophy. Through her education and experience, Harper is able to work with a wide diversity of people of all ages and circumstances. Harper began teaching kids, prenatal and postnatal women in Brooklyn in 2014. Harper also provides service as a Postpartum Doula for families in the Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Westchester county area. Harper is able to meet the family where they are at and provide clear, non-judgmental, and objective care. Every family is different, Harper is able to help eases the transition of the family dynamic to accommodate the new baby by providing a holistic perspective to and for the whole family. Harper is also trained as a midwifery assistant through Carriage House Birth. Harper lives in Pleasantville with her husband and two young children.
