Developed a Coordination of Care workflow with a Toronto hospital’s ambulatory clinic staff for the Company’s Multiple Sclerosis portfolio. Worked with key opinion leaders to incorporate value added services with the MS BiogenONE patient services program in response to changing guidelines for diagnosis, treatment and referral to teaching centres. Working with Medical, Regulatory and Patient Services, initiated a titration protocol for an oral MS drug for Pharmacists to proactively prevent gastrointestinal complaints at the initiation of therapy. Program was piloted in British Columbia in 2013 and 2014 and adopted Nationally as a best practice. Developed, in consultation with a clinical pharmacist, a blood monitoring program supervised by a responsible pharmacist with a written delegation of authority from prescribers in British Columbia. The program was initated in response to a safey signal in late 2014. Recipient of the Company’s Innovation Award in 2015 & 2018 having achieved 100% compliance to monitoring parameters with pharmacy in British Columbia and for the program’s contribution to the National rollout of the program in 2018.

• Responsible for promotion of Firmagon® (degarelix) in BC and Alberta to specialists in genito-urinary oncology (Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Urology).• Developed two local investigator-initiated studies to test the potential clinical benefit of the unique mechanism-of-action Firmagon® in the setting of brachytherapy and castrate-resistant prostate cancer.• Rapidly disseminated information leading to a change in administration technique and a substantial reduction in injection-site reactions.• Secured funding for a novel pre-clinical study exploring biomarkers in the setting of neoadjuvant androgen deprivation therapy and external-beam radiation.• Facilitated a “blanket” clinical trial agreement between the Company’s Clinical Trial Department and the BC Cancer Agency. The agreement, negotiated prior to finalizing investigator sponsored study proposals, accelerated implementation once the protocols were approved.

• Responsible for promotion of a class-leading chemotherapeutic, Taxotere® (docetaxel), in British Columbia to BC Cancer Agency (BCAA) and community oncologists.• Capitalized on growing concern among clinicians of long-term cardiotoxic effects of anthracyclines and lack of efficacy of Taxol®, a competitor to Taxotere, to shift prescribing to Taxotere-based regimens. As a result, Taxotere regimens became the most commonly prescribed among patients with early-stage node positive breast cancer in the Province.• Facilitated the implementation of a pilot patient management program. Positive impact on patient outcomes resulting in Province-wide roll out.• Identified potential drug-interaction through self-directed research of the pharmacology literature. Successfully negotiated for conduct of an in-vitro confirmatory study.
