The ocean is my passion, and it serves as my greatest design inspiration. I entered the jewelry industry because I wanted to showcase my passion for the ocean in a tangible way. My background in art history and sculpture inspires me to create one-of-a-kind pieces that can seamlessly transition from day to night. My experience in art restoration has taught me valuable skills in design and jewelry creation. Through my work, the most valuable lesson I have learned is that jewelry is a powerful tool for self-expression and self-confidence. I love being able to help women boost their mood and discover their innate beauty with my designs. I’ve become known for my ability to craft eye-catching pearl jewelry with a twist. My jewelry is designed to reinvent pre-existing conceptions of pearl jewelry through sculptural, ocean-inspired silhouettes and contemporary designs. Since self-expression is such a large part of Oceano Pearls, the brand is also famous for its wide variety of customization options. Customers are encouraged to make the pieces their own by choosing their preferred type of metal and pearl variety. Over my 7 years at Oceano Pearls, I am most proud of growing a female-led business. What started as a small business consisting of myself and my jeweler has grown into an expanding team with multiple female-run departments and retail outlets. I’ve also been lucky enough to have Oceano pieces featured in prestigious publications such as Vanity Fair and Condé Nast Traveler.
