Year Here teaches its fellows how Social Innovation and Enterprise can tackle society's most intractable issues. It champions an action-oriented,autodidactic approach to education. It is split into three phases: Frontline Phase, Consulting Phase and Venture Lab. Throughout each phase, fellows are given the support and training to transform their unique insights into impactful social enterprises.

Working with the Makeshift Foundation team across both Pop Brixton and Peckham Levels, in co-creating and co-designing a Theory of Change, an Impact Measurement Framework, a 12 month Action Plan and an Inspiration bank. Our team designed and delivered theory of change workshops, conducted research across both sites and organised a creative installation to galvanise members to participate within their local communities.

South Quay College is an Alternative Provision for 14 to 19 year old based in Tower Hamlets. It focusses on helping those who could not thrive in mainstream education find appropriate skills and training for eventual long term employment. As part of the Year Here Programme I worked as a progression coach for Key Stage 4. My main duties included : Assisting in a range of both academic and vocational classes, supporting with both content and behavioural issues.Creating and Conducting lessons in the case of a teacher's absence.Creating and running a daily breakfast service which was accessible to all learners in KS4.In addition undertook a large research project into the Sex Education our learners had recieved. After identifying the problem areas I designed a series of sessions in an attempt to tackle the learner's knowledge gaps.
