• My time here has allowed me to measure my progress from working part time since the shop opened in 2011 to working towards a full time position once I had graduated.• Acting as Brand Ambassador provided professional development outside of the shop and encouraged my interest in the actual workings of the company.• Trusted as both a Key Holder and a manager to handle cash, particularly important during the Christmas months.• Developed my managerial skills as I was now leading a team I had worked amongst for three years.• Trained focus of my commercial skill set, (e.g: KPI’s), and passing this knowledge on to others.• Actively working through Cath Kidston training with the team and measuring their progress with incentives as well as creating my own training material for them.• Taking my established skill set and adapting it to working on a concession amongst many of our competitors and a brand new team. From my time acting as Assistant manger at both the Trafford Centre concession and the King Street store, I have found that my skill set has rapidly developed and matured. With my Manager being dual sited, this has given me greater responsibility making choices for the store and trading. This is one of the main reasons as to why I have had to ensure that the decisions I make are contributing to the store's progress and that I understand the implications of those decisions, whether they be positive or negative, can be quickly turned around and adjusted to suit the store's and it's staff needs. My grasp on the company's trading factors such as stock levels, staffing and targets, particularly during peak trading times, has evolved alongside establishing stronger relationships with colleagues working elsewhere within the company. As a result of this, I can see the vast jump I have made over the past year, from senior sales.

I began working here during my A level studies and upon getting a place at Salford University I was transferred to the King Street branch in Manchester. I gained a lot of experience here which has served me well during my years in retail. Not only was I provided with in-depth training for the products at a number of boutiques and how to serve customers appropriately, I was also shown how to provide the customer with an in-depth skincare consultation. This included discussing with the customer about their usual skincare routine, identifying any key problems or symptoms they have with their skin and then going on to identify a skincare regime for them, with the products, to tackle their key concerns. I have to say that it was this first job in retail that prepared me for my subsequent roles.
