I am currently in my fourth seat of my training contract, on secondment at Great Lakes Insurance SE, a fully owned subsidiary of Munich Re Group. As a specialist provider of insurances services, I sit with the legal team in London assisting the business in all areas of contract, commercial and insurance law. Prior to this, I spent six months with the Financial Services Disputes and Investigation team. I worked in the financial services litigation practice, where the team acts for many of the UK's major banks and have particular expertise in international recoveries. I assisted the firms growing Investigations team and worked on a large project for a major UK bank.For my second seat, I split my time between the Corporate and Technology and IP teams in London. Both of these areas of the firm have a particular focus on digital and the development of technology. I assisted both start up companies on investment rounds, and worked on M&A deals for larger companies. I spent the first six months of my training contract in the commercial property team where I acted for high net worth individuals acquiring property and national developers.

As a legal assistant in the Regulatory and Professional Discipline department, I investigated and prepared fitness to practice cases based on misconduct and lack of competence on behalf of the Health and Care Professions Council. I was responsible for conducting witness interviews, drafting statements, reviewing evidence and drafting skeleton arguments. I worked with secondee barristers who represented our client at fitness to practice hearings.

Sevilla Area, Spain

I secured an internship for a period of three months with a local Spanish law firm in Seville, Bancalero Abogados which dealt with a range of civil and criminal matters. I undertook an intensive Spanish language course prior to starting the internship.

I undertook work experience in Dubai at Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE). DCCE is an environmental sustainability company which works on real estate and environmental projects. I was responsible for assisting with the completion of the first greenhouse inventory report for Dubai and surrounding emirates. I also assisted with a number of other clean energy projects working with international clients.
