I am a professional librarian with a background in communications and information management. Over the last two decades I have gained knowledge and experience in collection development, project management, research & analysis, leadership, contract management, and placemaking.I am achievement-focused and enjoy a challenge, so in 2012 I updated my existing library qualifications with a Master of Library & Information Management certification, for which I won the 2013 UniSA ALIA Prize for Dux. From 2022-2023 I further updated my qualifications with a Certificate IV in Leadership & Management. In 2012 I was also awarded the biennial Rod East Memorial Fellowship, which gave me the chance to represent South Australia when I visited 23 German libraries to view best practice examples of the third place and community. This opportunity gave me a unique understanding of international future trends in libraries, which I have been fortunate to share with Australian libraries through national and state conference presentations. I currently work full-time for City of Prospect as Team Leader - Library Services, where I oversee the daily running of Prospect Library. I additionally work for ALS Library Services as a casual Acquisitions Team member, selecting and purchasing children's and youth books for interstate public libraries. My passions are for collections, research, and community placemaking, and I aim to have a varied and interesting career in the South Australian public library sector.
