I am an illustrator, writer and dog parent, living and working in Norwich, UK, surrounded by house plants and half-drunk cups of forgotten tea.I have a passion for creating narrative-inspired illustrations for fantasy, sci-fi and young adult fiction. With a background in design and a love of graphic novels, I like to play with the relationship between text and image and to explore themes from fairytales and folklore in my work, both digitally and using traditional methods. At present, between commissions I am writing and illustrating my own graphic novel, inspired by feelings of identity and the environment, with a fantastical fairytale twist. I’m not giving away much about it just yet, but you can look out for updates on my social media.I am always looking for fun new commissions, driven by a sense of narrative. If you have a project you’d like to talk about, please get in touch.

Marketing OfficerWaveney & Blyth Arts Dec 2019 - Jan 2021As sole marketing officer and graphic designer, I worked 2-3 days a week from home to increase footfall on W&BA’s social media platforms and website, as well as improving their brand identity, creating a consistent form of design and clear, friendly and accessible communication across all their online platforms. I scheduled daily social media posts, created and uploaded articles and events to the website and redesigned, collated and edited their monthly newsletter. An increase in paid membership and online followers was seen throughout 2020, despite having to cancel all our physical events due to the pandemic. Sole focus was on our online presence and virtual events which meant I was at the forefront of making this a success. I am very proud to have worked in this role for such a wonderful organisation. -

Sales AssistantBig Blue Sky Art Gallery May 2014 - Aug 2014Wells Next The Sea, Norfok, UkBig Blue Sky was a prestigious art gallery in North Norfolk, known for exhibiting a variety local artists' best work. I exhibited my artwork there while also working as a sales assistant, giving me a great insight into running a small independent business. I loved working with other artists and leasing with stockists and customers. Sadly, due to lack of foot fall, particularly in winter months, Big Blue Sky closed toward the end of 2014.

Co Artistic DirectorSpa Life Magazine, Bath Spa University Nov 2010 - Feb 2011Bath, United KingdomDuring my first year at Bath Spa University, I was on the team of volunteers who, together, were in charge of creating the termly edition of the student magazine, Spa Life. Originally I was a member of the Graphic Design team. I helped create a style guide for the entire magazine with my layout designs. Using Adobe InDesign, I created two double page spread layouts for the movie review section, as well as a completely new format for the two double page spread calendar layouts at the back of the magazine.A week before the magazine was due to go to the printers, our Art Director quit. Emily Jones and I volunteered to take his place jointly. We worked together for over fourteen hours collecting together all 45 pages of the magazine from different designers, putting them into one file and checking each page fitted the style guide. This involved a lot of editing the design work ourselves as many of the graphic design team had no prior experience using InDesign. Spending such an intense few hours working to a very immediate deadline really helped me to fine tune my InDesign and layout skills. I learned a lot about the way fonts work together and the importance of using space. The issue of Spa Life that Emily and I put together was dramatically different, design-wise, to the publication's previous issues. It was by far the most popular issue and got over one thousand more views online than any previous and later editions.

Over the course of three weeks, myself and a team of around six other members painted all the signs that were to be put up across the entire arena, back stage and in the camping areas. I was in charge of lettering and Latitude still use the font I created in their signs today.I also helped paint 70 picnic benches, three bridges and many long drop toilets, all of which had to be painted green with daisies on them.
