I am senior design and strategy specialist working across the public and social sector internationally, with a deep knowledge of public services; from their delivery, to the development of policy. Today, I am based in Göteborg in Sweden and I am working across the Nordic countries in strategic design roles. This includes working to establish Samhällsnytta in Sweden, a new organisation aiming to create new arenas to tackle the complex societal challenges of the 21st century. As an experienced design leader, I have delivered wide ranging projects & programmes in partnership with clients in the UK, Europe and more widely internationally. I have worked with a number of public design and innovation organisations, including as head of design & partner at Innovation Unit UK and leading public sector work at Engine Service Design. My strategic design work has included work in Brazil on radical education reform, in Australia running a country-wide innovation programme with a $billion early years education charity and in the US supporting a pioneering city-wide innovation programme in New York. I have lectured on design and leadership widely, and was previously been lecturer and programme lead for BA Design at Goldsmiths College, University of London. I am also an Enabler with the UK's Leadership Centre, and have delivered leadership development programmes for senior public sector leaders in the UK, US and Europe.I am passionate about transforming our public institutions and democratic processes to become platforms for new forms of participatory design & decision making and to grow our ‘social imagination’ to realise more positive & equitable futures.
