Gordy” Brown in 2016. Harris Brown, a Mississippi Native whom served his country for 10 years in the US Army and Navy established himself as a business professional in 2005. Mr. Brown has a Master’s in Business and has been self-employed for over 10 years. During that time, he discovered his market strengths and his focus to become a successful restaurant owner (www.myfishstop.com). With a client base of over 5000, he has established himself as a Veteran Owned Small Business; and due to the success of My Fish Stop he now joins the Veteran Owned Small Business Association that awarded him “Most Visited Veteran Owned Business on Google” in San Fernando Valley.Let’s take a look backwards; In 1997 Harris landed in Los Angeles after serving 10 years in the military. He worked for Claude Wesley, Master P, and Brian Turner of Priority/No Limit Records until 2003, instrumental in achieving 25 Gold and Platinum albums sales for the work he did for the Marketing and Radio Department. Harris learned what makes a hit record from those experiences, later becoming a the “well known” Promoter “P. Gordy”. This also helped him establish many celebrity relationships and a wide network that have embraced his restaurant, tenacity, and passion for food.He attributes his military discipline and significant promotion/marketing experience to part of the success of his current restaurant; a raw office space he built out and converted to a restaurant with his own funds. My Fish Stop has been open for 8 years now in Sherman Oaks, surviving the pandemic shutdowns and continuing to thrive. Currently, it is grossing over $300K Net with 4 employees and no marketing budget or alcohol sales. One of the secrets to his success, is a family friendly and colorful atmosphere, with excellent food. He is excited about the new location at 11046 Magnolia Blvd in North Hollywood community that offers fast casual dining with high-quality food, served in a fun atmosphere with an open kitchen and inclusive concept. One of the things he does best is bring people together with his vibrant personality, so no better place to do it than over a wonderful meal.
