I led the organisation and delivery of a charity football tournament, an important showcase event meant to inspire students and young people to participate in charity work. The need to gather money quickly for earthquake assistance in Morocco shaped the course of events. My actions involved meticulous planning, considering charity policies, showing an example for another student, and maximising every penny for donation. During this stage, my focus was on creativity and innovation on how I can make this event stand out. Despite initial apprehensions about public speaking, I overcame this obstacle through continuous rehearsal and composed delivery during the tournament. The result was a success, as the event not only highlighted the importance of proactive charity involvement but also raised enough funds to provide sustenance for 600 families in Morocco for a week. One major challenge I faced was creating a contingency plan, in the event we do not reach our expected numbers. Without sacrificing my plans, I had created a scalable event. When doing any plans, I had to ensure that my end goal was consistent with my initial idea. This was a challenge in terms of the actions I took personally, also had an effect on the charity I was working with. An example of this was adapting to documenting everything and all plans so that I could collaborate with people in the charity. I believe these skills that I had developed in this experience are vital to building a successful solicitor. From working with others and individually in order to meet the end goal to having key communications skills. Not only between colleagues but also to clients is something that I have developed.

During my time at WCF, I dedicated my time and expertise to offer legal advice, significantly benefiting our operations and communities the charity serves either locally or internationally. I demonstrated a high level of professionalism and a profound understanding of legal principles applicable to the charity's needs. My contributions were not only invaluable in terms of legal advice but also in ensuring compliance and enhancing the organisation's ability to serve the needs of beneficiaries effectively.Examples of the volunteering working included a guidance on helping the charity to understand the legalities of World Care foundation opening a religious school, which involved the council, where I provided advice on planning and licensing. I also provided help to refugees and giving them a better understanding of the immigration and asylum process in the UK. Throughout this period, I remained organised and took on a dynamic role as every issue was unique. On certain issues, I proactively researched and learned new skills to better manage new areas of law.

Buying and selling to customers for foreign currency. The role is predominantly serving customers and ensuring the correct information is being exchanged such as me informing the customer their privacy rights and our policy since we are required by law to take certain information in order to transact. The role also includes the responsibility for large amounts of money and securing customer data by only retaining what is necessary and filing it correctly or shredding.This role has many responsibilities due its nature of money and financial crime. The sector is very regulated and requires me to create unusual activity reports using my opinion if I deem a transaction to be illegitimate or fraudulent. I have to keep up to date with my knowledge of many policies and procedures in order to transact correctly in line with laws and internal policies. An example of this was when the UK imposed sanctions on Russia recently meaning we could not sell the Russian Rubble, which was a decision that came overnight.

During University, I was part of the team that restarted the Islamic society at Edinburgh Napier. Due to covid, my first year was all online and effectively stopped all societies. When second year started in person, fellow students and I collaborated and grew the society back up again. I had taken the role to be the head of events. I believed that I could work well with other people and make a great team.Our successful team was built on communication with not only other committee members, but also the student union and students that are attending events. We worked well together by ensuring all events are well planned and executed to plan. We had to coordinate different aspects, considering the budget, marketing strategies, and the preferences of the attending members. I think this will benefit my future careers by keeping multiple stakeholders goal while executing a plan. An example of how successful the society was, I took part in the charity week programme by a world-wide charity. This consisted of 5 events in 5 days with a large cross Scottish Uni society dinner which was co-hosted by my team. One of my proudest goals I have achieved was raising just over £10,000 from events I had led in just one week. This experience has developed my team building skills with new people and learning that communication is key to having seamless collaboration
