I worked 9-5 M-F as well as taking an extra class in Data Journalism Monday nights.While there I gained experience covering sports, video games, local, politics, arts and culture. Reported full-time in an interactive newsroom and developed remote work experience. Wrote and edited daily, 2-day and longform stories. Advanced writing, Adobe creative suite, editing, Wordpress, social media, AP Style and advanced reporting skills. I strove to let the human element drive every story that I wrote and collaborated with coworkers/ editors to create the best product possible.

At the Daily Gamecock was offered the opportunity to become one of the Sports Editors the fall semester of my freshman year in college. I Designed the print sports section once a week, managed staff stories from a pitch to publish, reported full-time in an interactive newsroom and filtered through news releases/ availability to assign reporters to various stories. Here I gained a strong basis for a career within sports writing where I advanced InDesign, writing, publishing in Wordpress and editing skills. It allowed me to cover availabilities from Williams-Brice Stadium all the way to the Staples Center Locker Room.
