Experienced pharmacologist with expertise in the clinical and preclinical evaluation of CNS-active drugs, human behavioral research, and drug development. My professional experience includes over 4 years in pharmaceutical industry research and consulting where I managed the MADDERS, a first-in-class system developed by Analgesic Solutions for the prospective monitoring and assessment of drug abuse-related events in clinical trials. As a postdoctoral research fellow I have developed additional expertise in the design, execution, and regulatory approval of clinical studies as well as the communication of clinical findings through publications, presentations, and other media. My experience in both industry and academic settings has provided me with a unique skill set spanning the technical, regulatory, and financial challenges involved in bringing new medicines from the bench to the bedside. As a result I have developed a keen interest in the roles that scientific communication, regulatory decision making, and public policy messaging play in shaping our therapeutic landscape. I am interested in leveraging my expertise in CNS pharmacology and my extensive experience in clinical and preclinical research settings to further optimize the rational, evidence-based development of CNS-active therapeutics for a wide range of indications.
