Camp Sensei
League City, Texas, United States
As a Summer Camp Sensei at Code Ninjas, I had the opportunity to inspire and mentor young minds in the world of programming. My role involved guiding students aged 7-14 through engaging coding activities, fostering their creativity, and building foundational skills in both block-based coding and JavaScript.Key Responsibilities:Curriculum Delivery: Led daily instructional sessions, teaching coding principles and logic through interactive projects and games. Utilized platforms like Scratch for block-based coding and introduced JavaScript fundamentals for more advanced learners.Project Facilitation: Assisted students in developing various projects, including creating interactive stories, building simple video games, and designing animations. Encouraged problem-solving and critical thinking to help them troubleshoot and debug their code.STEM Integration: Integrated STEM concepts into coding activities, demonstrating how programming is applied in real-world scenarios. Guided students in collaborative projects, reinforcing teamwork and communication skills.Classroom Management:Maintained an organized and engaging classroom atmosphere, managing multiple groups of students with varying skill levels. Implemented strategies to keep students focused and motivated throughout the camp sessions.Parental Engagement: Communicated regularly with parents to provide updates on their children's progress, sharing their achievements and areas for further development. This experience not only strengthened my teaching and mentoring abilities but also deepened my passion for technology education. I am proud to have contributed to sparking an interest in coding among young learners, equipping them with skills that will serve them in the future digital landscape.
