Reporting to the Chief Producer, the role of the Afternoon Producer is to assist in the production and output of the afternoon and late bulletin for SBS World News. SYN offers young people aged 12-25 the skills and platforms to be creators, not just consumers, of media.SYN Media (the Student Youth Network Inc.) was formed in 2000 as a result of a merger between two youth radio projects: 3TD (an AM station run by high school students from Thornbury-Darebin Secondary College) and SRA (Student Radio Association), the RMIT University radio station that also spawned 3RRR in 1976.SYN is governed by a Board of Directors, elected by the SYN membership, who offer their time and expertise voluntarily to our organisation. SYN’s volunteers are the backbone of our organisation. They are all aged 12-25, and they take on jobs across nearly all facets of the media-making process: as producers, presenters, technical crew, promotions, music, reception, and web coordinators.
