I am working on Gravity Fed System as Resident Engineer. The project is currently preconstruction stage. However, I have been involved in preconstruction activities like review of the design site visits and position of structures. I have been also involved in the evaluation of the contractor and checking of the design of the pipe line systems. The project is worth over MK 1 billion (US$ 3.3million) ADF sponsored projectI have worked as Resident Engineer for a World Bank sponsored project under Southern Region Water Board supervising three districts the contract sum was MK 587,000,000.00 (US$ 1,700,000.00). I arranged and chaired monthly progress meetings in the absence of the project manager, I managed the projects, I also held technical meetings with the contractors which dealt with planning of the works, I also supervised execution of the works to ensure that the works were done to required specification and standards, I also gave instruction and made critical decisions, I also ensured that safety was observed on site, I also analyzed the designed system and came up with resolutions to the identified problems, I determined required quantities of fitting with Engineering specifications.Design of structures, preparation of bill of quantities, supervision of works, site visits, procurement of engineering articles and plant management, site meetings general management of contracts (including planning) and management of the engineering office.
