As an Area Specialist my primary task was to address reoccurring quality problems within the test process, feeding back information and findings to quality specialists, as-well as to the source of the problems in previous rework areas and the production line. I was required to investigate the faults that were being detected using various computer programs and quality systems to track where the vehicle had been worked on, and what process was the likely cause of problems. In my role I was also required on occasion to run the Test process area, leading a team of 15 associates and support their daily tasks. I was also involved in the regular production and quality meetings, managing daily targets and fallout from the area, and using this information to prioritise tasks, and guide my team to meet the targets set out by upper management.In my time at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars I came to learn in depth many computer systems from assembly instructions databases, series production programs and pre series production quality reporting management tools.
