As a part-time student in Marketing, Insights, and Communications at John Deere I supported the research portfolio synthesis and reported data to leadership teams. This includes but is not limited to; the services, extended warranty, customer/dealer relations, barriers, competitive intelligence, and value proposition. Using creative freedom, I gained familiarity with video editing and presenting information across teams.

• Developed a competitive intelligence analysis regarding price and value comparisons of the highest-selling aftermarket parts. • Led and organized an opportunity discovery field study regarding the equine industry and John Deere, with the goal of seeking to unlock new opportunities and areas of growth. Using my industry knowledge, we were able to unlock portfolio gaps, service ideas, and tactical marketing messaging strategies.• Conducted an experimental project regarding research synthesis within the aftermarket team. Utilizing content creation, digital software, and networking, I was able to create a physical and digital display to help connect people to research insights.

During my first internship with John Deere, I created a B2C value document for customer attraction, business value, and retention of our residential turf customers. This project required collaboration across the small ag and turf business to identify strategic themes.

• I am currently elected as the Vice-President of MANRRS for the 2021 and 2022 academic years.• National Conference 2nd Place Champion 2022 for Public Speaking• National Conference 1st Place Champion 2021 for Public Speaking• National Conference 3rd Place Champion 2021 for Writing• National Conference 3rd Place Champion 2021 for Impromptu Speaking• As a freshman I participated in the regional impromptu speech competition to represent the University of Kentucky. As a freshman, I won the competition and will represent the school to share the impact agriculture has on the regional competition in spring 2021. The UK MANRRS chapter helps promote the advancement of members of ethnic/cultural groups that are underrepresented in agricultural and related sciences. I have utilized my leadership skills to help this amazing organization and to have the opportunity to participate in diverse activities that support their and others' academic and professional development and achievement.

• I am a fellow in the inaugural Animal Health and Care Fellowship through National MANRRS. We are a cohort of students that meet with animal health companies and learn about different opportunities in related fields. In this fellowship, we attended the MANRRS National Conference in Jacksonville, Florida, and International Production & Processing Expo in Atlanta, Georgia.

• As a Wildcat Wrangler, I serve as an equine ambassador for the UK Ag Equine Programs office. We work to bring a sense of community and unity to the equine students in the College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment. This year we hosted a Week of Service in the fall and a Day of Service in the spring to bring more community service engagement for students and people in need.• In this role, I organized publication and event write-ups to share with the college and affiliated organizations after the Equine Week of Service community service event.

• In this organization, the American Saddlebred Horse and Breeder's Association started their inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Charter Committee. We worked together to change the stigma around horse riders' skin color, size, sexual orientation, and other ways people can be marginalized. We also organized a diversity training session for all ASHBA members at the national conference for the horseman.(United Professional Horseman Association Conference 2022)

• An incredible opportunity to serve the community as I was selected as an instructor. As an intended equine science management major in business, I am leveraging my skills in horse management to link other disciplines. It is to say that, leading in this sector requires multiple skill sets. Therefore, my leadership as an Eagle Scout/leadership, high school engineering major, and choral director in music were all leveraged to help me become successful while working here. The exposure to these areas provided a lens to see the management and daily operations of running a barn facility.

• At its core, Scouting is a leadership program. I served many different leadership positions during my time with Troop 731, including Senior Patrol Leader, which is the highest youth leadership position in the troop, and as such, the one with the most visibility and responsibility. My key learning from leading others was time management, large scale organizational planning, servant leadership, and community outreach. I am grateful to have learned the importance of mentoring others and being a mentee.• National Youth Leadership Training is a 6-day course that parallels much of the material taught to managers in the corporate world. While adults prepare the youth staff during staff development, the youth staff run the entire course, which typically has 48 participants.
