The projects were developed using the Design Thinking and FOCUS Frameworks as well as the Lean methodology. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, our scope pivoted to work in rural communities which resulted in me leading 3 groups across 3, 2-week programs in Omeo, Victoria.

My role involved leading several small teams on different consulting projects for Omeo District Health (ODH), the main health care provider for the people of the East Gippsland High Country. These projects were established by working closely with the board of ODH to evaluate and design strategic plans to ensure the health and well-being needs of the Omeo and neighbouring communities. My responsibilities included;• Project development• Stakeholder management• Project and Activity Risk Assessments including COVID-19 management• Facilitation of the Team Leader’s personal and professional developmentThe work done by PEV at Omeo District Health resulted in several successes including;• Won $218,000 through the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grant program for the hospital to build a Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre ($90k), and for the local volunteer-led golf club ($128k).• Won $45,000 through the East Gippsland Infrastructure Fund through the development of a Business Case for a new community gym.• Completion of a comprehensive energy audit of the hospital to reduce their costs and carbon footprint, as well as a fire readiness assessment of the hospital including the Business Case for a larger water tank to present to The Board. • Community tourism project including a Business Case for an EV Charging station to present to The Omeo Community Board.

The Australian Ocean Laboratory (AusOcean) is an environmental not-for-profit organisation which utilises software and maritime engineering innovation to protect our oceans.My role at AusOcean included the research and development of affordable ocean sensing equipment, as well as it's installation off-shore at different Great Southern Reef points of interest. Successes included the installation of underwater cameras and speakers at the Glenelg shellfish reef restoration to encourage more rapid settlement times. It also included the installation of South Australia's first live streaming underwater camera, located at the Old Rapid Bay Jetty.

Between 2017 and 2019 I was a part of 7 deployments across Timor-Leste and India in which I oversaw the development of several business models across the following projects areas;• Everest Recycling Solutions: A recycling collection service currently operating independently in Timor-Leste. The aim of the project is to improve waste management throughout Dili and reduce the impact of plastic. • Energy Assessment: Assessing the feasibility of solar technologies and micro-grids within our operating areas in Timor-Leste and India. The aim of the project is to improve access to electricity using sustainable technologies. • FarmEd: Aiming to improve the livelihoods of rural and urban-rural families who depend on farming as their main source of income. The project focuses on the implementation of agricultural technologies to improve quality and quantity of yields.• Fuel Sustainability Initiative: This project looked at developing a business model around the production and distribution of fuel efficient ‘rocket stoves’, as well as fuel sources alternate to wood including the development and maintenance of biodigesters and biogas. This would improve the lives of the users by reducing smoke inhalation during cooking.Other responsibilities and outcomes of my roles included;• Facilitation of group’s transport, food and housing and management of $30k/month budget.• Responsible for regular project and activity Risk Assessments including team briefings, drills and coordination with International SOS (ISOS).• Development of government and other stakeholder relationships.• Oversaw the company’s expansion into India including traveling through India to find a city suitable to operate from under certain criteria surrounding health, safety, accessibility, liveability and project viability. • Coordination of two separate emergency medical evacuations, involving the repatriating of a student from Timor-Leste to Darwin for treatment.
