Between 2017 and 2019 I was a part of 7 deployments across Timor-Leste and India in which I oversaw the development of several business models across the following projects areas;• Everest Recycling Solutions: A recycling collection service currently operating independently in Timor-Leste. The aim of the project is to improve waste management throughout Dili and reduce the impact of plastic. • Energy Assessment: Assessing the feasibility of solar technologies and micro-grids within our operating areas in Timor-Leste and India. The aim of the project is to improve access to electricity using sustainable technologies. • FarmEd: Aiming to improve the livelihoods of rural and urban-rural families who depend on farming as their main source of income. The project focuses on the implementation of agricultural technologies to improve quality and quantity of yields.• Fuel Sustainability Initiative: This project looked at developing a business model around the production and distribution of fuel efficient ‘rocket stoves’, as well as fuel sources alternate to wood including the development and maintenance of biodigesters and biogas. This would improve the lives of the users by reducing smoke inhalation during cooking.Other responsibilities and outcomes of my roles included;• Facilitation of group’s transport, food and housing and management of $30k/month budget.• Responsible for regular project and activity Risk Assessments including team briefings, drills and coordination with International SOS (ISOS).• Development of government and other stakeholder relationships.• Oversaw the company’s expansion into India including traveling through India to find a city suitable to operate from under certain criteria surrounding health, safety, accessibility, liveability and project viability. • Coordination of two separate emergency medical evacuations, involving the repatriating of a student from Timor-Leste to Darwin for treatment.
