I also had the opportunity to perform bridge inspections that ranged from 3 spans to 30 spans and from 20-foot-tall bridges to bridges that towered 80 feet above water. After work, I attempted to develop a tutoring company of my own. I gained over 100 hours of tutoring experience and was able to help students reach drastic improvements in math and science courses. As I received more client requests, I started hiring tutors to help me; however, at one point there were too many client requests for me and my tutors to manage! I had an opportunity to get my feet wet with some railroad bridge designs, but my main focus was with construction plan reviews. I ensured that the firms constructing the railroad bridges met standard requirements and verified they had a safe and feasible construction plan. This experience helped me to understand the logistics that go into design constructability. I was given the opportunity to participate in an internship with the Tampa Bay Church (now known as Anchor Point). I acted as an assistant to the Campus Minister during the summer of 2015. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to assisting coordination of a Bible discussion, leading personal Bible studies, evangelizing on USF campus grounds every day, assisting the worship ministry, training young church members, and organizing recreational events.

I performed nearly 350 pavement inspections and learned about pavement cracks, weathering, and distresses.

I worked as an intern and experienced projects in most departments including: Airports, Hydration and Hydrology, Structures, Railroads, Transportation and Groundwater Development. My biggest projects were designing a railroad crossing for Stanford Avenue in Springfield, IL through the Transportation department and manually calculating the center of mass for a typical span of the Ash Street bridge.
