Whilst at 4Com my role entailed the following: I would be expected to install and configure a range of network devices including; routers (Draytek), switches (Draytek), Access points (Draytek) and a range of VOIP handsets (Yealink, Grandstream, Polycom). Configuration would be implemented both on hardware and using various hosted platforms. Troubleshooting would also be performed on customer systems both on site and remotely. Whilst onsite I would also be expected to undertake Cat5e cable runs and overcoming building/logistics complications as they arise. Also providing full training to the customer and ensuring the customer is fully satisfied with their new system before leaving site.

Whilst at HSO my role entailed the following; installing multi-vendor devices including Cisco and juniper on customer sites throughout the UK. Performing a speed test using Iperf to make sure the customer is receiving the correct bandwidth, and making sure the failover and LAN migration runs smoothly. I was also responsible for configuring customer devices for access services. This included configuring the Radius server as well configuring the Cisco router. Ceasing customer circuits was also part of my job, removing any configuration on the core, Radius server and updating documentation to reflect the change. Communication between myself and project management and other engineers was key.

Whilst at Comms Care, my role entailed the following; Being part of tier 1 projects on behalf of high profile customers, installing and configuring routers and switches. Also staging multi-vendor devices including Cisco, Juniper, and Draytek. This included dismantling devices, removing chassis and rebuilding with relevant cards and modules as well as configuring ready for shipping. My role also required me to respond to break fix requests on behalf of high profile tier 1 customers, replacing hardware and correcting incorrect configurations both onsite and remotely. I also performed detailed audits of end user networks and server rooms. Keeping both the customer and reseller up to date at all times was essential.
