Served as a bioinformatics programmer within Emmes’ Bioinformatics Service Group -- the acting Statistical and Data Coordinating Center (SDCC) for the Clinical Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID) contract funded by The Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID), a division of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) -- a subsidiary of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).As a lead bioinformatics programmer, I’ve was given responsibilities over the transcriptomics portion of an Emmes supported CRID contract. Working largely independently, I utilize and curate a workflow to run large RNA-Seq clinical experiments using proprietary tools and AWS Cloud Services - focusing on quality control, normalization, outlier detection, statistical analysis, and dynamic report generation.Also servicing The National MDS Natural History Study (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31111762/), as a bioinformatics programmer for Emmes -- the Data Coordinating Center for the project - funded by the National Hearth, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). As a lead bioinformatics programmer under this contract, I developed several R-Shiny based reactive web-browsers designed for principal investigators to parse study data to use towards new clinical studies. This effort requires the ongoing curation of patient phenotypic data, clinical outcomes, CBC data, QOL data, demographic, and sequencing data -- which is then packaged into respective interactive web-browsers that can be parsed via filters and displayed with reactive graphs and tables.
