My youth was in the theater, working my way up from stagehand and stage manager to directing; some Albee and Mamet, as well as avant garde and experimental pieces. Always itched to string words together, so there was a lot of writing as well, some good and some not so good. Tried a hand at acting too... because you have to know what terrifies you.I've been moving in and out of film and TV for 30+ years now, from editing documentaries, a creative writing BA, to short films and festivals, a Masters in directing, and various international awards for film.There's screenplays and teleplays and mini series in my portfolio, often with a focus on non-fiction.Along the road to wisdom, I have also worn a teaching hat, both independently and at my Alma Mater, domestically and abroad. I've written across the spectrum of media, from college newspapers and street press to magazines and online content. For the past ten years, I've been a consultant and creative for conceptual and design firms in Manhattan. During this tenure, I stretched into new fields and designed over a dozen restaurants and private residences, as well as created many more original or curated art works for a variety of spaces. Travel is my tonic, and for the past 12 years I've divided my time between NYC and Italy; design & film in the New World, classical studies and writing in the Old World. Progress continues in a PhD under the mentorship of Count Niccolò Capponi of Florence, at the Accademia Italiana, and the Capponi Archives. The plague locked me down in Gotham, so I took the opportunity and went back to school online, expanding my portfolio with new history and art history courses. In 2022 I emerged and threw myself back in the Broadway world; I produced a theater festival that consisted of 56 plays from around the country, while simultaneously stepping back into my old director's role and helming two plays. There is still a place in tomorrow's world for Renaissance Men.
