While in high school, I created a marketplace that allowed Discord server owners to monetise their communities. Here's an overview of the platform's key features:The platform allowed Discord server owners to leverage their communities for targeted advertisements. These ads were broadcasted directly to their community members, and customers had the option to purchase "@everyone" or "@here" notifications, ensuring maximum visibility and engagement.Originally built in PHP, i decided in mid-2019 to completely scrap what i had built due to security vulnerabilities found while in beta testing. I needed help, so i hired another dev and built the site in Node.js without a framework, we focused on simplicity and flexibility. The front-end was crafted using pure CSS and JavaScript, ensuring a clean and efficient user experience.Highlights:- I launched the platform in early 2020, and boy, did it hit the ground running! In my first month, we did $10k in profit. It was a surreal moment, considering it surpassed what I earned working away in the fast-food industry for an entire year to save to build the platform.- I was fortunate enough to attract some of the largest Discord servers to my platform, with our largest server on the platform boasting an impressive 200,000+ members.- We amassed a network of 1,000,000+ combined server members across 500+ different Discord servers. Which was a massive audience primed and ready to engage with ads.Unfortunately, Discord terminated my services due to a violation of their Terms of Service regarding automating montised processes. However, manual advertisement sales were still permitted. Regrettably, this led to the decision to close the platform in June 2020
