I worked as a logistics analyst doing operations support for Georgia Pacific's nationwide network of warehouses. My primary responsibilities were handling the write-off process for consumer products and processing 20 shipments a week through a drop yard. While handling write-offs, I discovered nonexistent inventory on aged STOs due to SAP system errors. I brought up the issue with my team and then took the initiative to investigate the system errors. I found over $850,000 of nonexistent inventory. I then researched the causes of the errors and what we could do to prevent them in the future so I could present to accounting for approval. Once I had approval, I had to work with an SAP specialist to work out how to remove the inventory. This was not easy because there were five different causes, each with a different solution. I recorded these sessions and edited them into training guides that could be referenced if more nonexistent inventory is discovered. I also got to teach a new hire who joined my team a month into my internship how to do the job.

I worked as a cabin counselor for eight elementary school-aged boys. I ensured everyone got up on time, the cabin was cleaned, and we made it to a morning assembly on time. I also mediated disputes between campers and wrote to parents every week to let them know how their campers were doing. Outside the cabin, I worked as a lifeguard on the camp lake and sailing docks. I also led the activities of blacksmithing and woodworking. In these activities, I taught campers safety and proper technique and monitored their progress. While performing these duties, I gained the ability to discern when a person really needs help and when they are just unsure of themselves.
