BioForward is the member-driven state association that is the voice of Wisconsin’s biohealth industry. At BioForward, we have the vision and resources to grow Wisconsin’s companies developing high-tech value solutions that define the future of healthcare.Up until BioForward, I have been a scientist and an academic. Through my experiences in biotech consulting, business management, and entrepreneurship, I learned of the many exciting and innovative companies and organizations we have in Wisconsin and I wanted to help them achieve their goals. Joining BioForward has allowed me to continue to work with these outstanding individuals in the biohealth industry in Wisconsin.My position places me in Milwaukee, so I can help BioForward support and advocate for the industry and research in Southeastern Wisconsin. I am building up the BioForward membership here so that we may help this unique community grow and succeed.

PICO is a small-team oriented group of MCW postdocs who are focused on addressing the needs of start-up and second stage biotechnology companies. PICO provides actionable business strategy and product development advising services while developing the business toolkit of its members. - As PICO Manager, I supervised the leadership team and drive all decisions on organization, staffing, recruitment, fund-raising, planning, expansion, and advertising.- Managed a project to determine commercialization value of pharmaceutical compounds bydesigning Market Research Surveys, Strategic Opportunity Matrices and Target Product Profiles- Consulted on a SBIR/STTR grant following Market Analysis and generation of a Product Profile- Served as leadership team member and Portfolio Manager - expanded client portfolio through integrated promotional strategy, mentoring new hires, guiding the development of the PICO brand, and identifying new projects through networking

As a Postdoctoral Fellow in the lab of Dr. Aron Geurts, I worked in the fields of Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Physiology to design new technologies to further the advancement of basic research. One of my projects revolved around manipulation of the epigenome. I have designed and produced constructs capable of in vitro DNA targeting and methylation resulting in modulation of gene expression. I worked in cultured mammalian cells and whole animal studies to discover new ways to study epigenetic gene regulation. In addition, I worked on other projects involving the creation of gene knock-out animals and other animals models using zinc-finger nucleases and transcription activator-like effector nucleases.

As an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Math, Science, and Engineering, I ran lectures and labs for multiple chemistry courses and served as a substitute lecturer for anatomy and physiology courses. At a large community college, I interacted with students from various ages and social backgrounds. I primarily taught and designed curriculum for “Chemistry and Society,” an intro-level course consisting of lectures, small group work, assignments, readings, online quizzes, tests, and a research paper.
