As a Postdoctoral Fellow in the lab of Dr. Aron Geurts, I worked in the fields of Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Physiology to design new technologies to further the advancement of basic research. One of my projects revolved around manipulation of the epigenome. I have designed and produced constructs capable of in vitro DNA targeting and methylation resulting in modulation of gene expression. I worked in cultured mammalian cells and whole animal studies to discover new ways to study epigenetic gene regulation. In addition, I worked on other projects involving the creation of gene knock-out animals and other animals models using zinc-finger nucleases and transcription activator-like effector nucleases.

As an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Math, Science, and Engineering, I ran lectures and labs for multiple chemistry courses and served as a substitute lecturer for anatomy and physiology courses.
