Mostly in this role I was analysing data and building reports. As I became more confident in my role, I became more involved in pitches, project setup, and questionnaire writing. I was very lucky to be involved in several projects trialing methods never before used at Kantar (Chat-bots for Unilever and Data Analytics for the FA). With new methodologies, you're often challenged to think on your feet and present findings many have never seen before. It was intensely challenging, but I learned a lot and gained exposure to some of the top talent within Kantar's innovation teams.My favourite projects were when working with Unilever. I spent a lot of time (both inside and outside of work) learning brand strategy and consumer psychology while working with Kantar's NeedScope framework. This framework helps brands understand how to form a strong and consistent brand identity (to be "pointy"). After using this framework for several projects, I got involved with educating the wider company on Needscope's theory and value. We worked on survey templates and frameworks to build this thinking into our brand trackers.I was heavily involved with the Heineken team, often travelling out to Amsterdam and Ireland to meet with local insight teams. I worked on several projects for this client including NPD and brand tracking. I developed a great relationship with the Irish insight lead at Heineken and our tracker presentations often led to more consultative discussions on strategy and brand. I found my voice and confidence in my field, becoming a regular presenter and renowned/expected questioner during meetings. I managed more team members while here, and it's a key thing I am focusing on improving going forward. Show less

A Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant and bar in the heart of South London. I worked weekends here outside of my full-time position; I just couldn't stay away. I learned the art of crafting a cocktail and showmanship. I understood ingredients like Sake, Yuzu, Pisco and Miso, things I hadn't ever heard of before. I worked under a fantastic bartender how taught me incredible methods for transferring flavours and combining unlikely ingredients. It will always have a place in my heart!

Under Dr Mark Humpries, I undertook a 2-month internship to understand how neural networks can be recreacted using mathematical simulations. It was an exceptionally tough crash course in maths, physics, neuroscience and computer modelling. But I can proudly say I emerged from the other side, having successfully modelled two separate decision-making processes and learnt a good few lessons in patience and self-motivation.
