Harrison is the Co-Founder & CEO of Infants' Health Foundation - a grassroots level organisation that breaks down the barriers to accessing and utilizing maternal child healthcare services in remote hardest to reach villages of Uganda by using motorcycle ambulances to bring nurses and other health workers to these rural areas on a monthly basis so that they can provide free home based quality and timely essential treatment and relevant information throughout the stages of pregnancy to low income mothers and their children living far from health facilities as well as giving them access to safe, quick and reliable emergency transport to reach a health facility during delivery and in cases of serious illnesses that need further medical attention. The traditional health care model is that people go to health facilities to seek for help, Infants’ Health Foundation is changing this, our health model is that we take the services to the people in their communities. Our community health model is cheap yet the impact is immense. It’s the best way to invest in those left furthest behind in remote hardest to reach villages.Our nurses in our comprehensive clinics provide antenatal checkups, vaccinations, birth information, postnatal checkups, child checkups, educate mothers on a healthy life style, HIV tests, anti-retroviral treatment, family planning, malaria treatment, Sexually Transmitted Infections testing and treatment, counselling, referrals, and other lifesaving services.#JoinUs In Saving Lives.
