In this role I worked with composites, including wet layup, prepreg and vacuum bagging, trimming and finishing panels and components. As well as tool-making and maintenance.Some projects required various model making techniques such as foam sculpting, casting, clay modelling, woodworking, and CAD for 3D printing and laser cutting.Client work ranged from one-off bespoke cars and repairing various panels for racing cars, to producing limited production panel sets.In this role I was expected to problem solve, use my initiative, and work independently and as part of a team, whilst maintaining high standards of work. As my role developed I became a key interface between company and client, on the functional, structural and aesthetic needs of their projects. Within a year I had gained responsibilities that included running and managing the workshop, and company resources.
