I'm a third-year student at the Pennsylvania State University. Things I enjoy in my free time include watching sports and the outdoors. My love for the outdoors spans my time in scouting. In scouting, I received the rank of Eagle Scout and earned three Eagle Palms. Additionally, I am a Vigil Honor member in the Order of the Arrow (the highest honor in scouting's national honor society). Throughout scouting, I learned many valuable lessons including leadership, responsibility, and resiliency. Many of these skills I attribute to being a Senior Patrol Leader and being the lead on my Eagle Scout project. Being Senior Patrol Leader I was in charge of orchestrating meetings and campouts for 30+ young men. This responsibility taught me lots of things about how to be a leader, the main being how to bring diverse people together. In my Eagle Scout project, I gained a plethora of communication skills as to develop this sign I had to work through multiple people to reach my goal.Additionally, for the past three summers I have worked in landscaping. The landscaping company I worked for Spellen's Lanscaping LLC, was one that was created by a peer my own age. Being his only employee I was included in business negotiations and ways to improve the company. After my first year, I even took my own crews out and worked as a foreman. Additionally, I helped reroute our routes to make them more efficient and save money. Lastly, the past summer I participated in a summer internship with the company On-Board Engineering. Throughout the internship, I was able to become familiar with AutoCAD and drafting and revising. I hope that I can bring these relevant skills to an internship this coming summer!
