Undertook a three year Kew Diploma certificate at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. A broad-based training in amenity and botanical horticulture.President of the Kew Mutual Improvement Society lectures from 2016-2017. A popular non-profit lecture series which engage top horticultural speakers across the industry, previous speakers include; Alan Titchmarsh, Roy Lancaster, Carol Klein, James Wong and among many others. Undertaken a Red List Assessment on Nothofagaceae on behalf of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and the Global Trees Campaign. Spoke to schools and colleges on a regular basis to show the importance of horticulture and the incredible diversity of opportunities available.

Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

Held position of chair for a non-profit lecture series: Kew Mutual Improvement Society. My role consisted of organising, co-ordinating and hosting a popular weekly lectures series from September - March at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. I invited 25 top horticultural professionals from all walks of the industry, including James Wong, Dr Noel Kingsbury, Tom Stuart-Smith, David Domoney and among many others. I additionally managed a team of 10 people to help bring the lecture series to fruition. From our hard efforts, we raised £4000 towards our botanical field trip by selling tickets, refreshments and holding regular raffle events where we sourced many prizes through kind sponsors.

Myself and a colleague devised an outreach programme for students at schools and colleges who are currently considering their career options. We arrange engaging horticulture talks on a regular basis to portray to students the amazing array of exciting career and educational opportunities available in the industry.

Responsible for maintaining a high profile 25 acre woodland garden; holding many attractive ponds, water features, bog gardens, woodlands and cultivated areas.

The Sir Harold Hillier Gardens have an exceptional plant collection of international significance. The site hosts one of the greatest collections of hardy trees and shrubs in the world, growing in 180 acres of formal and informal landscapes. Originally joined the organisation in 2007 as a Plant Area Assistant and was then invited to train as a Horticulturist from September 2013. Started a one-year trainee placement funded on a scholarship by the Royal Horticultural Society (Susan Pearson Fund).
