Weld Production Lead

Lead all business categories (safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale) for the c zone of the weld department which is comprised of 65 processes performed over a two shift operation. Tasked with developing, evaluating, and executing the business plan for the zone to drive down rejections, prevent injuries, set line conditions to achieve delivery targets, and implement cost saving initiatives to achieve our cost per unit targets.

Write CMM programs on a twin column HC-90 LK for parts quality verification, white body accuracy, and check fixture assurance. Use Catia V5 to analyze part datums, determine feature nominals, and create fixtures to be printed on a Dimension SST 1200es 3D printer. Utilize a portable FARO Laser Tracker Xi to measure comp set jigs, transfer jigs, and various complex fixtures. Control Door, Hood, and Tailgate fit and finish by adjusting set fixtures, performing repeatability studies, and manipulating the frames/ skins in the set jig equipment. Implement temporary and permanent countermeasures for Quality issues as they arrise either through jig adjustments or process management. Communicate concerns between Vehicle Designers and Equipment Designers on items to be changed for future New Models.

Redesigned and fabricated equipment used on the assembly line to improve the employee's safety in the working environment. Supported weekly preventative maintenance of the door carriers on the frame assembly line. Gained project leader status for the door assembly line rebuild during plant shutdown. Contacted equipment suppliers and pushed for the completion of ergonomic issues with the brake pad nut runner used for the new Honda Ridgeline model. Established two energy-reducing systems on the assembly line to reduce costs during shutdowns.

Completed weekly quality standard audit reports for processes used on the assembly line. Setup and performed force, stress, and strain analysis for parts quality verification. Gained warranty parts analysis responsibility for the exterior quality group. Completed quality improvement reports by counter measuring issues found through warranty part analysis. Communicated with suppliers about the redesigning of two Honda vehicle components.

Gathered deviation data for my superiors and implemented my information into excel files. Setup and performed tensile strength testing of re fabricated hex nuts for weld integrity. Revised the operation standards for water leak, skin deformation, and bonnet operation tests used in the quality analysis department. Introduced to ATOS (Advanced Topometric Optic Sensor) while counter measuring a fuel lid flushness issue. Supported the tear down and inspection of the paved rough road and corroded test vehicles.
