I am a registered professional Landscape Architect and a Fellow in the American Society of Landscape Architects. I have been with Carol R. Johnson Associates, now CRJA-IBI Group, since 1977 and am Managing Principal of the practice based in Boston MA. With an undergraduate background in Art History and City Planning, I received a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Locally I have been responsible for the master plan/design for the Upper Charles River Reservation, the preliminary landscape design for Boston’s Central Artery/Tunnel Project, the renovation of the grounds at the historic Massachusetts State House and the Harborwalk at Logan International Airport. Outside New England, I have been engaged in streetscape restoration projects in Nashville, TN, and Atlanta, GA, as well as corporate landscapes in Columbus, OH. Working abroad, I have directed design for the new campus for the American University in Cairo, Egypt; site planning for the National Museum of Marine Science in Keelung, Taiwan; and the Master Plan for Marabet, an international equestrian community and home of the Egyptian Arabian Horse.My personal aspiration is to use the power of Design to change the world. Short of that, I would be pleased to enrich the lives of all people who encounter our work, and to reconnect us all to the beautiful natural environment of which we are all a part.
