As a Regional Editor for Crain National, I work closely with contributors in Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Seattle, Portland (Oregon) and other cities to curate and deliver the latest and most significant business news each weekday. Our daily newsletter draws on the broad reach and expertise of reporters and editors across Crain's 22 industry-leading brands, including regional business publications in New York, Chicago, Cleveland and Detroit. We also track breaking business news from outside news organizations and complement our daily report with thought-provoking original content, such as our "If I Knew Then" series.

Responsible for all editorial content, including client documents and corporate marketing materials, for a boutique investment bank in Chicago's Loop. Assisted owners of firms generating between $5 million and $100 million in annual sales raise capital or sell their businesses. Researched, wrote, edited and delivered corporate profiles, industry research, confidential offering memorandums, marketing materials, and a broad range of other documents. Also coached other employees to improve their writing and communicate more effectively. Handled as many as 15 projects concurrently, each with a 30-day delivery deadline.

30-plus masthead chain spanning more than 60 Chicago-area communities. Specialized in highly localized coverage delivered in print and online, with emphasis on municipal issues, politics, business, schools, crime and prep sports. Coordinated with other departments and had full P&L responsibility.

Joined this 100,000-circulation daily as Illinois News Editor and was later promoted to Business Editor. In each role, directed the coverage of a five-person staff and produced a full section of coverage each day, with additional sections on Sundays. Heavy focus on the steel industry, transportation, job training, and real estate development, among other issues. Was honored for General Excellence by the Illinois Press Association as the finest paper of our size in the state.
