-During my time as a lifeguard I learnt the importance of taking responsibility for the customers and ensuring they were safe in the pool as the only lifeguard on poolside.-I had to be punctual with 30 minute changes for monitoring the pool with my co-lifeguards which built relationships and understanding of working with other personalities.

- Learning to control situations on my own while a lot of the people surrounding disagree with what you have to say.- Balancing work load as a lifeguard and refereeing on the weekend helped me to deal with independent work before university.
