Training And State Certification Manager

Department Training Officer responsible for the development and implementation of all in-house training and registration of officers for outside training at multiple training centers. Provide firearms training to all departmental sworn officers. Provide adjunct instructor assistance at Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) and Fulton Public Safety Training Center for Basic Law Enforcement Students.Departmental Armorer responsible for all training related to weapons (firearms, TASER X26(P), ASP and O.C. Spray) owned and issued by the department, as well as maintaining an up to date inventory of all weapons owned by the department. The maintenance and repair of all weaponry also falls on my shoulders. Departmental Quartermaster responsible for the department's $25,000.00 a year budget for uniforms and equipment provided to all sworn and non-sworn personnel. This includes the test and evaluation of equipment, seeking the best price for equipment and the order of uniforms and equipment for personnel. I also oversee the department's small equipment budget, approximately $70,000.00 a year, which includes the test and evaluation and purchasing of vehicle equipment, ammo, targets, safety equipment and miscellaneous items for the department.Departmental Evidence Custodian responsible for all property, evidence and safe keeping, which is logged into the property room and provide said items to City Court and District Attorney's office for the prosecution of criminal offenses.Field Training Coordinator responsible for the development and implementation of the field training program for all newly hired sworn officers.Departmental Public Information Officer responsible for providing information to public media outlets to assist in investigations as wells as answer any questions involving the department.
