I am a passionate and capable public policy professional, with an interest in economics. I have developed a theoretical understanding of economics through my formal education and the practical acumen to apply this knowledge through experience on a wide range of projects. These range from in-depth desk-based research for a longitudinal evaluation of the Local Growth Deal for Lancashire to survey writing and administrative contributions for a comprehensive process evaluation of the Global Food Security Programme. As part of this, I have strengthened my ability to apply both qualitative and quantitative methods to develop independent critical judgements of public policy problems. This has informed my ambition to take on an active role in the policy-making process.My professional interests include housing, research and innovation, and welfare services. I have ambitions to work in influencing policy from an economic perspective either through research and analysis in a think tank, consultancy or more directly through work in the civil service itself.
