All customer and vendor problem escalated to me for third level support, after looking into problem if not resolved at that time decide appropriate action. Assign staff and communicate what action will be needed for timely resolution. Manage overtime and contractor usage to keep within budget constrained. Direct reports, time sheets, expense reports, writing of annual reviews and setting goals for upcoming year is my responsibility. Coordinate work efforts between shifts by holding a successful turnover meeting. Assign direct reports to the appropriate task, issues that are ongoing from the previous shift are addressed first. • Continuous improvement process to improve KPI I Implement aggressive cross training between my Direct Reports to Sun, HP, AS 400, RS 6000 and PC LAN and be able to track results gained. Motivate staff to educate themselves to become more valuable to support multiple areas of responsibilities. My guidelines for this where then implemented across all shifts. This save $250,000 first year and over $500,000 second year in contractor / overtime cost. After the first year it became a standard for all shifts.Originated SunGard pride workshop reward luncheon, held every two months for those who meet or exceed standards. I have put in place a series of metrics to be viewed as the standards. These standards became the QC process for all customers testing at SunGard and would continue to evolve. Through these metrics we are able to get a good feel of the entire departments work effort and ethics. During each luncheon I have a planned topic for discussion, usually dealing with an area of concern, new implementation or improvement. Put in place quality controls for all customer-testing setups.
