My expertise is in Cryo-electron microscopy. I have extensive experience training users in the entire workflow ranging from protein expression and purification to automated imaging and subsequent image processing. I have worked intimately with research labs worldwide to help them in their pursuit of novel protein structures. More specifically, I routinely operate high-end transmission electron microscopes (TFS-Titan Krios, TFS-Talos Arctica) equipped with direct-electron detectors and energy filters (Gatan-Bioquantum and Gatan-Biocontinuum) concurrently with real-time image processing software to solve protein structures. Classification and refinement steps can reveal multiple structures of the same complex in differing conformations, leading to a more nuanced understanding of protein dynamics. As a structural biologist with a strong background in pharmacology and cancer therapeutics, I enjoy taking part in cutting edge research as it relates to drug development and advances in medicine.
