I have completed my lvl 2 NVQ in mechanical engineering, along with completing 6 months of work experience whilst doing my lvl 2 NVQ, this experience was in a fabrication place called KD Garner ltd. In my experience I tried the basic fundamentals of engineering and worked along side helping create a new 5th wheel beds and pipe work for fuel pumps on articulated HGV vehicles. Along side this I have completed my lvl 3 NVQ in mechanical engineering and also completed my lvl 3 Btec certification.Whilst doing my lvl 3 NVQ and lvl 3 btec I have gained knowledge and understanding of mechanical and some electrical engineering skills, these skills have also been put to the test in different projects at college such as doing maintenance on a bandsaw and refurbishing the bandsaw, using the correct methods and going over the correct safety procedures for the job. I have also done maintenance and repairs on 5 compressors within my college, these were also completed through complying with safety guidelines and regulations.At packaging automation I have learnt lots about how a manufacturing company operates and the different types of departments and processes that go into the making of one of our machines. I have had experience in most departments ranging from fabrication, stores, CNC, machine design etc. I have also been able to gain skills and confidence through the time I have been here and look to gain more experience and knowledge as I go on in the engineering field.
