This included some of the following tasks:o Assembling parts and components as per engineering drawings and specifications, using correct bonding techniques.o Making modifications as per engineering/customer requirement. o Calibrating and adjusting devices for correct operation and control. o Performing quality and fault analysis to ensure specifications have been met. o Proactively liaising with the design engineering team to discuss potential process improvements – mainly found when solving problems encountered during production.o Ability to use all workshop machines, including lathes, mills, drills, welding equipment (basic tac welding) and grinding machines. I also travelled abroad to visit clients to install, commission, troubleshoot and train operators on how to use the machines correctly and safely, whilst explaining process relevance.

Process engineering:• Gained extensive technical knowledge in the complex processes involved with sugar production. This includes: raw material processing, juice refining, animal feed production, bioethanol production and combined heat and power generation. Project management: • Responsible for the management of a cost reduction Capex project worth £50k to increase the chemical system’s capacity and reduce cost per tonne of chemical usage. • Full management of the project including the creation of the design specification, checking the quality of drawings, plant decomissioning, installation and contractor management. • Delivered the project on time, under budget and with a return on investment of 50% per annum. Maintenance engineering:• Responsible for the planning and scheduling of daily proactive and reactive engineering work, co-ordinating a team of 15 engineers and contractors on a daily basis. • Ensuring business compliance targets are met through statutory and mandatory preventative maintenance of plant items. • Conducting assessments of plant items to meet PUWER regulations.Training/Certification:• Gained accredited Lean Six Sigma training to deliver a Continuous Improvement project. • Completed an IOSH Managing Safely training course and assessment successfully.Extra-curricular:• Represented the company within the local community by organising and leading an engineering day for local schoolchildren to promote engineering as a career.
