Hardware Design Engineer
● Project lead for the design of quantum random generator which is to be deployed in the current QKD system; the data capture module uses softcore as the top-level subsystem and the driver code for the same is implemented in C++; the bit generation module is based on custom logic and ARM cortex A53 based quad-core processing system and the drivers for the same will be developed in embedded Linux; the system incorporates IPs such as I2C, SPI, UART, DMA, PHY, SATA, Aurora for datatransmission, custom logic for data capture, and hash DRBG algorithm in FPGA modules for thegeneration of 1Gbps quantum random bits● Theoretical modeling and design of lattice-based NTRUHPS post-quantum cryptography algorithm; estimated the time performance of the algorithm in C++ and AVX2 optimized implementations; the build environment was set up in linux and utilized gcc toolchain; the module level implementation of the model was done in matlab● Data-analysis automation script: the script was made in python3 and completely replaces the manual work removing the human estimation errors from the results; the script is used in post processing of the captured time stamps to estimate the quantum bit error rate;● Electrical modelling of transient capacitive behaviour of single photon detectors; used matlab script to generate gating sinusoidal signal and simulated the model in Ltspice, the results were then processed again in matlab; the model helped in quantifying the dead time of SPDs which helped in improved data rate of the QKD keys● Worked on laser driver circuit, for the control and fine tuning of the spectral linewidth, using current and temperature sensitivity of the laser, the aim was to improve the Extinction Ratio by reducing insertion losses;
Project Intern
● Worked on quantum level dynamics of single-frequency lasers and their application in Quantum Key Distribution (QKD)● Researched on the effects of temperature variations on the spectral linewidth of distributed feedback lasers
