Managed the overnight, nationwide traffic gathering operation in the National Traffic Operations Center. Supervised a team of 20 including directing workflow and providing support to editors. Monitored closures on interstates for over 40 states to ensure appropriate overnight coverage.  Restructured lay out and job assignments for overnight shift to maximize efficiency and productivity of editors.  Oversee and collaborate with editors working on incident entry to provide the most accurate, real time information.  Troubleshoot network and general operational problems and work with IT on remedies. Work with 24-hour clients to resolve issues and prepare for morning drive. Formally review direct-reports performance on a quarterly basis. Review and approve time and attendance records on a bi-weekly basis.

After 10 years in a variety of positions on the operational side of the transportation/distribution group was promoted to Transportation Manager in 1994. In that position reported directly to the vice president and was directly responsible for 45 employees. Group managed fleet maintenance, fleet safety, routing, transportation systems and budget. The department operating budget was in excess of $20M with an additional $1M annually for capital purchases.
