With a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Guelph, I bring over 9 years of combined research and industry experience specializing in developing and simulating mathematical models to help answer complex questions in biological and environmental systems.As part of the Mining Services Team at Ecometrix, I collaborate closely with environmental scientists, biologists, geochemists, hydrologists, and engineers to better understand the intricate physical and chemical processes associated with mine sites. My work is centered around the use of industry-standard software, including MineMod™, IMPACT™, GoldSim™, and CORMIX, to develop robust water quality models that support both operational and closure phases of the mining lifecycle.My technical proficiency further extends to assimilative capacity and mixing zone assessments, ensuring compliance with water quality standards across various jurisdictions including Ontario Provincial Water Quality Objectives (PWQO), Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME), Federal Water Quality Guidelines (FEQG), and British Columbia Ministry of the Environment (BCMOE). I leverage my expertise in programming languages to develop customized models tailored to specific site and receiving water conditions.In addition to my project work, I am a key member of the MineMod™ Development Team, where I contribute to the theoretical framework of this object-oriented software, which simulates the entire lifecycle of a mine site. I also lead the technical authorship of the MineMod™ Theory Manual and am responsible for the independent verification of model outputs and user interface functionality.My academic and professional journey has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to tackle environmental challenges head-on, driving innovative solutions in water quality modelling and environmental management.
